Is this plugin safe for my database?
The scanner only previews findings. Cleanup uses WordPress's post update API so supported post types can retain revisions according to normal site settings. No content-changing tool can be universally risk-free: review every result, take a current backup, and test important layouts before cleaning in bulk.
How does dynamic suppression work?
Suppression filters displayed post content through the_content without changing stored content. It is disabled by default. You can target selected tags or explicitly opt in to suppress all detected unregistered tags, with an ignore list for literal bracket text.
How much does Pro cost?
Pro costs £29/year for one site. Applicable tax is added at checkout, and the subscription renews automatically each year unless you cancel through Lemon Squeezy. Prices are displayed in GBP; Lemon Squeezy processes the equivalent payment in USD.
Is Pro a separate plugin?
Yes. Free provides unlimited manual scans, previews, individual cleanup, suppression, and ignore rules. Pro is installed alongside Free and adds reporting and multi-select bulk-rule tools. You can optionally connect your purchase licence in Tools → Unregistered Tag Cleanup for updates; your installed Pro features continue to work without a connected licence.
How do I install Free and Pro?
Install Free first from the WordPress.org plugin page and activate it. Then use View Order in your Lemon Squeezy receipt to download Pro, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, upload the Pro ZIP, and activate it. You can optionally connect the licence key from your receipt in Tools → Unregistered Tag Cleanup for updates.
For Pro downloads, licence keys, and subscription management, use the Lemon Squeezy order portal and sign in with the email used for your purchase.
What data leaves my website?
The Free plugin is designed to perform its work locally and send no telemetry or content to Kitawolf. If you later connect a Pro purchase, the licence key and website URL will be sent to Lemon Squeezy, and the key plus activation ID will be sent to Kitawolf's Cloudflare-hosted update service. Those services will also receive the requesting server IP. Scan results and post content are not sent.
What should I check before cleaning?
Back up the site, confirm that the plugin or theme which registered the shortcode is genuinely no longer needed, and review each snippet. Shortcodes stored in custom fields, page-builder-specific storage, widgets, or generated at runtime may not be covered. Complex or nested shortcode markup should be tested on staging before destructive cleanup.
