Update Lens for monday.com
Privacy policy
This notice explains how Kitawolf Studios, the sole trader business providing Update Lens, handles information in connection with the app. Questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
It applies specifically to Update Lens. For browsing this website or using its contact form, also see our website privacy policy. The website's broader marketing and product analytics descriptions do not mean Update Lens sends board content to those services.
What the app accesses
With the permissions granted to the app and your monday.com account, Update Lens reads the current board's name and identifier; item and group names and identifiers; update and reply text, identifiers and timestamps; authors' display names, identifiers and profile images; and attachment names, identifiers and counts. monday.com provides board, user and theme context so the app can display the appropriate view.
Your search text and selected filters are used to find and display matching conversations. The app does not download attachment contents or search inside files. It opens the original item through monday.com's own interface when you select a result.
Purpose and permissions
We process this information to provide search, filters, reply context and navigation to the original item. The app uses seamless authentication through monday.com's supported libraries. You do not need to give Update Lens a personal API key.
Update Lens reads board content and does not create, edit or delete it. Permissions and availability are subject to your monday.com account and the app's installation settings. We do not sell board content, use it for advertising or send it to an AI model.
Storage and retention
Searchable board content is held in browser memory while the view is open. Kitawolf Studios does not maintain an external database, search index or server log of this content. Closing or reloading the view releases the app's working data; the original content remains in monday.com under your organisation's retention settings.
The app saves one browser preference, update-lens:welcome-version, to remember completion of its walkthrough. This stores a version number, not board content or a user identifier. It remains until you clear the app's browser site data. Uninstalling an app from monday.com may not clear that browser preference or the browser's ordinary cache of static files.
If you contact us, we receive your email address, name if provided, message and any information you choose to include. We retain support correspondence for as long as needed to resolve and follow up your request, maintain relevant service records or meet legal obligations. We assess retention against those purposes and delete information when it is no longer needed. Please do not send passwords, API keys or confidential board exports.
monday.com and service providers
The app is hosted on monday.com's app hosting infrastructure (*.monday.app) and uses monday.com APIs, SDK messaging, and monday-provided profile images. monday.com also receives a built-in value-created event used to measure app adoption. Our call has no custom payload containing your search text or board conversations. monday.com may maintain platform, hosting, security and usage records under its own terms.
Kitawolf Studios does not add a separate advertising tracker or third-party analytics service to the app. Email providers process support messages for delivery and storage. If you use the website contact form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks for abuse and Brevo delivers your message. This website is hosted with GitHub Pages, with Cloudflare providing website delivery, HTTPS and security. These providers may process connection and request data, such as an IP address, requested URL, browser information and timestamps, for delivery, operational logging and security. The website's shared styles also load Google Fonts. These website requests are separate from the embedded app; this website setup does not send the app's board content to Cloudflare, GitHub or Google Fonts.
Read the providers' notices: monday.com, GitHub, Cloudflare, Brevo and Google. These services may process information internationally under their applicable agreements and safeguards. We do not claim that all processing stays in one country.
Our role and grounds for processing
Your organisation determines how board information is used and who may access it. The app processes that information on its behalf to deliver the requested functionality. Kitawolf Studios is responsible for the support and business contact information it handles. Where data protection law requires a lawful basis, that handling relies on performing our service contract, our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and operating a secure service, or compliance with legal obligations, as applicable.
Your choices and rights
You can stop using the view, clear the local walkthrough preference or ask your account administrator to uninstall the app or change its access. No Kitawolf-hosted copy of board content needs deleting on uninstall because the app does not keep one.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or portability of your personal information, restrict processing or object to it. Contact [email protected] for information we control. Requests about original board records should also go to your organisation or monday.com. You may complain to your local data protection authority; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Security, children and changes
The app is delivered over HTTPS and uses monday.com's authentication and authorisation mechanisms. Report suspected security issues privately to our support address. Update Lens is intended for business users and is not directed to children.
We will update this notice when the app's information handling changes and show the new effective date above. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate product or customer notice.
